Posts: 535Rather than delete, just close the threads maybe?

Helps make future pricing on similar items a bit easier!

Posts: 435I think it better to delete them, pricing is always up to whoever is selling it
items also go up and down in pricing, also depends on condition
March 26, 2016 at 3:06 pm #15234Yeah it’s way better to pull a price out of your arse then have to keep lowering it for weeks until it gets to something realistic and sells…

Posts: 535Pricing, user history/trading etc, seller or purchaser feedback (if any).
Every thread contributes something to the forum, I think it’s a bit premature to start deleting thread period unless there is good justification to do so.
It would be good though if the thread title is updated with either sold, closed, withdrawn so you don’t need to read every post to see if the item is sold or still available etc
Maybe an automatic thread closure time after a set period of inactivity as I myself have been guilty of starting a FS thread (on another forum) and not closing it even when items were gone after a long period of time.

Posts: 5 777^tend to agree with this, rather use some self regulation than start deleting stuff at this stage. Happy to take the idea on board though and keep an eye on it.

all i mean is after a year or 2 most prices are not the same, a part that may be worth $500 today, maybe worth $100-200 in a year or even go up beyond $500 if its getting harder to get. so maybe keep the post around say a year then they delete.
i always put what i actually want for it, if something has cost me so much i try to get what i can back for it. most of the time i slightly negotiable but generally i’ll check gumtree and ebay and other forums and get an idea of what something is worth then list it, ebay prices can be all over the place, and gumtree gets annoying with the lowball offers.
The only place i sell that’s normally dearer is when i sell on ebay as i will add in the cost of the ebay fees to list it.
