has anybody installed bilstein shocks into VN commodore struts? Are they a direct replacement with the original shocks or do the struts need modifications to accept the bilstein shocks like the VT to VE commodores

I dont know vn. But vs yeah its an insert that has to be modified into the existing strut its not a direct fit. So if vn is same same as vs then yes.

    Be like this same deal

fitting koni inserts to gm struts guide vn/vz

Nah pretty sure you cut the tops off and weld on the new part.. I may be wrong it’s happened in the past  ;-)

It turns out that the bilstein shocks fit into VB to VP struts as a direct replacement for the standard shock, I brought a set and have installed them with no modifications required.

Turns out these were used in most brock group a cars the walkinshaw and Vn group a.

the weld on sleeve is only required for VR onwards.

^^^ that sounds about right,  I’ve got Bilstein shock inserts in my VH and it was done without welding anything.

Great info, my last VB was only 3 years old when I got it so it’s been awhile…
