Posts: 206Did anyone actually attend Albert Park?
It was my 15th consecuitive year of going to the f1. I love it.
Was a very bad weekend for me unfortunateky with Alsonso losing conciousness in testing and not being allowed to race and having magnussen fill in, McLaren qualifying last, losing a car on the sighting lap, and the only car left finishing last haha damn it.
the new honda motor just isnt up to spec. but, can’t expect much for its first season!
March 23, 2015 at 10:29 pm #3286Biggest POS race I’ve seen. Rather pull my dick to the wiggles.
March 23, 2015 at 11:20 pm #3292The track is rubbish no matter what vehicle is out there…..

Posts: 5 777Pete aka VSManta218 went I think. I have never been, as an Adelaide guy still annoyed we lost it, I reckon the AGP when we had it was awesome…
April 18, 2015 at 2:39 pm #5002Didn’t even see this thread
I did go and it is always good to go to the event as a whole weekend but comparing f1 at the moment to past f1 isnt worth it because they are currently shitNo other way to put it
Maybe it’s like comparing holden vs ford with ford been current and 2014 f1 and holden been 2013 and earlier f1 cars
They sound shit
And they are slowI mean 650hp come on the worlds fastest cars and 650hp don’t belong in the same sentence
I had a food blender recently and uped it from 240v to 3 phase and it had 650hp
The lap recorded was set by Schumacher in 2004 at 1:24.125
This year I believe was 1:32.6 was fastest lap I could be wrong
And shoot out times where 1:34 – 1:37
And you got to remember they are Corning just as fast as they use to so that 8-10 seconds is lost in full throttle section of the track
That’s piss weak in my oppion
It’s just the cars are not fast enough, I know they want to make it so it’s competitive but that’s just not the way F1 should be
they should have 1000+hp
at least enough fuel to do the race flat out
Enough tyres so they keep traction and not have to stretch it out
They should be faster then the human so if someone is a better drive it shows
And if the driver isnt good enough he ends up off the trackNot this consistent crap where if you miss a turn once it’s hard to gain it back
Iv heard in 2017 they are ditching the v6 poo engines and goin back to v8,v10 or v12 and back to 4 figger power range
You will see what I mean at the Monaco GP Gary
They had a 2009 F1 car I think it was doin the car challenge thing and you could physically see it was faster just watching it

Posts: 5 777I totally agree Pete, I really think F1 has lost the plot. All this tyre conservation and fuel management crap. Give us big engines, huge power, best driver wins, let it rip….

Posts: 5 777Just saw your bit re Monaco, for me that’s as much about the actual venue, the glamour etc etc as the racing and being there with my old man who’s pretty old and not real well. I went to the Le Mans 24 hour a few years back with him. At the corner called Tet Rouge, they approach touching 300, turn and go through the corner, and not long after they are doing 400+ km/h down the Mulsanne straight. At night watching that was just spine tingling. Sort of like watching the top fuel drag version of a race car. That’s what F1 needs to get back to, a total invasion of the senses, where best/bravest driver wins not best engineer or aerodynamics guy.
April 18, 2015 at 6:39 pm #5020Yes totally agree
Doesn’t matter what event it is it’s more about the atmosphere been there
That’s why it didn’t bother me with the f1 in Melbourne weather the race is a perfectly executed no safety car no crashes Aussie looses race
Yeah sure it would of been boring on tv but I was sitting at the start line as all of them took of and watched the 2.6 second tyre changes and stuff
Who cares that’s only 1 hour of the event, it was more about been there having some drinks, seeing roulette jet and Boeings fly over with motor x guys doin stupid shit and bands every where and just the vibe of been there for the day
