Posts: 5 777For sure, agree with keeping going. I wonder what the history of it is, I wouldn’t have thought there would be that much rust. Whats the saying “when you are going through hell, just keep going”

Posts: 71Want this car going again… Really just Wonna fix the Wagon and sell it. Over the hassles of a 5L. I don’t have the Chinese hands to fix. I’m at wits end with it. It’s either gonna burn or gonna be sold.

Posts: 71Cave, only 500 to fix it properly. Too much time has gone into this car. It’s my first car I bought too. So sentimental value is high for me…

Posts: 71Hopefully get this back by the end of the week. It’s gonna have a clean bootlid. Bobtail got damaged and the original bootlid has a nice dint in the middle and the spoiler is warped. So looking into a new bobtail. Or bootlid with the bobtail.. Would rather genuine over the aftermarket.

Posts: 5 777I had to swap my boot lid, so went and scored one off a car that never had the spoiler. The spoilers are so heavy that people close them fairly hard and the weight of the spoiler distorts the boot a little over time. Doesn’t matter what you do the imperfection is still there. As I say i just scored a straight one off a car with no wing, drilled the holes, had the boot lid painted then fitted it

Posts: 71Bobtail weighs nothing. So that won’t bother it. Supposibly this bootlid had no holes in it so it’s a clean, straight lid. I don’t like that it has no bobtail. .

Posts: 5 777Sorry mate I’m a bit confused, the pics at the start of your thread show a rear wing like mine, mine isn’t light. But maybe you are referring to something else as a bobtail?

Posts: 71Sorry, I probably didn’t mention it along the lines, but I wanted to swap to a bootlid with bobtail. So bought a second hand bootlid with bobtail. When it arrived, it turned out to be damaged. So told the painted to paint the old bootlid. But luck was on my side and the bootlid and spoiler were both damaged. So they used the bobtail bootlid. That supposibly have no mounting holes. Am now on the lookout for a genuine bobtail.
