hehehe me too ive gotta get it over to my mates workshop to see if its tuned he seems to think it has a cam and a tune as well but that wont be till after new years sometime as hes flatout till end of january at least

aside from the things ive listed there im thinking i might get one of those alloy engine bay dress up kits for a couple of hundred and paint the engine cover as much as id like to do sum rocker covers and fuel rails braided lines etc i really need to get sum audio sorted for it as the factory stuff just isnt up to the standard im used to

also going to get it up on the stands and check an prolly replace tail shaft couplings an center bearing and any suspension bushes whack on sum bigger sway bars and a large tranny cooler

that brings me to the limit of my budget for this car atm so ill have to be saving up again an just enjoy the drive while i get back into gettin the rest of the parts i need and puttin all the parts i have collected onto my 88 vl turbo bt1 resto thats been rather negelected for the last 18 months or so

slim line black on white plates look much better than the old black on yellow nuthin fancy just stock whatever the rta had there to hand out

replaced ac an drive belt today as they were both past their use by date

found the idle pully on ac is basicly rooted and the top pully for the drive belt is a bit stiff so replacing those as well

finally got to look at the front end and its a good thing im sorting out struts strut tops an swaybar bushes cause those have all basicly had the dick

struts arent to bad but the tops have had it an teh sway bar bushes are like throwing a bowling ball into a tunnel

got the sports foot rest ready to go in and a new switch for the glovebox light and organising a spare flip key  so have delayed the wheels an fitting the brembos until ive got all the small things sorted out with the money i have left atm

so id been hearing that holden wired the subs in the premium sound system reverse polarity and basicly left the gain at nuthin on the amp
the sound from the subs was a dull farty hey lets vibrate an make noise sound so today while i was puttin me led brake lights in i took the dodgy route and pulled the amp and cut the wires to subs reversing them an turning the gain up an what do u know they sound way better for what they are a much clearer crisper sound with more punch an bellow
not gunna get em sounding any better for a pair of 50w rms 8 inch free air subs running off this tiny 40w rms amp but it will do until i decide whether im going to chuck my good system in or replace the head unit with a custom or alpine job that keeps the hvac and canbus stuff workin for the top screen an steering wheel controls

so im not quite sure what year models this effects for ve with premium sound but if anyone has 1 an isnt game enough to cut the wires the amp is in the boot infront of the battery try turning the gain halfway to the right dont go all the way else things might go boom

nah i havnt atm as the build has been a bit of a messy affair due to my laziness and lack of enthusiasm at times and not havin a camera for most of what ive done dont get me wrong i havnt lost interest ive been grabbin parts when i can an they are piling up lol

its not much to look at tho atm and its not a show quality build

from the outside its a white sl turbo with a cooler and long range tank sittin super low on sum old 17s

it has all new bushes and suspension in it and i have all new brakes stock rear and vn group a 330mm discs an nissan gtst 4 spots up from with a rbs vt master booster an braided lines to go on when i get my new simmons fr17s

engine was rebuilt in early 2000s sumtime by previous owner with a large hybrid cooler t3/t4 hiflow and turbo back 3 inch exhaust

atm there is no interior in it as i rewired all teh elctrics and have yet to put new steering column in which i will when i replace the manual steering rack with my other manual rack thats in better nick

still need to get some roadworthy front seats and some other bits an peices to get it to a complete car then i can start repairing a few rust spots here n there with some plates and do a bit of upgrading customising and bling on stuff

car is more of a when i got time an money toy with no deadlines and it will be done when its done attitude :)

got me monroe struts nolathane strut tops an sway bar bushes in today car drives an handles so much better now next up monroe rear shocks may as well do the whole lot

definately thinking of whiteline swaybars front an rear now

also ran out of time gettin my new ac mount with dual idlers and longer belt in thats sposed to fix the belt walkin off the front of the pully so ill get to that on monday

also picked up a new flip key had it cut and programmed and a couple of glovebox keys as i didnt have any of those mmm shiney an new

and after scratchin my head why the glove box light wasnt workin i finally figured out sum 1 had put the earth an power on the wrong way on the globe end from the switch which i also had to replace as the old one was exploded lucky i had a gm branded 1 from my 30 year old vl parts car hehehe only indicators an parkers to go for full led lights

i tell ya dont drop tiny led parkers into your headlights

decided to put my led parkers in yeh so all good both in passenger side dont work pull it outta the hole an plop the bloody thing fell inside the back of the headlight

pain in the ass to get the headlight out but i thought i can do my pool noodle fix an make it easier to do ac bracket fix tomorrow so off with the grill the rock tray the front bar an pull the inner guards half out and after all that i test the led an yep its dead straight outta the pack

im not puttin it back together until the ac bracket pool noodle and a new led is in i dont want to drop it in that light again lol

new ac fix update bracket with twin pullies an slightly longer belt installed no more walkin ac belt

pool noodle in under the front bar got rid of the sag

monroe struts installed into the rear

    sum spiffy led parkers

    sports foot rest in

drives like a totally different car now i definately think whiteline sway bars will need to be added just cause why not

on the other hand i found that the right front out of the headunit is dead not the speakers so im goin with an alpine mutlimedia unit + alpine control unit for the canbus hvac hazard lights etc an prolly sum type r splits up front an coax 2 ways in rear doors

i already have subs an amps to go in

wheels i can wait for but the front brakes cant go on without them :( but right now id rather have sum decent sound for driving :)

for those wondering about pics there will be more when theres something more to show

so went out today an picked up a few more things

change of plans with the audio the headunit i wanted wasnt in stock and i got different speakers but anyways

alpine ine-w960a multi media head unit

alpine pfk-ves1g2 perfect fit control unit

    focal 6.5 splits up front

    hertz coax 2 ways rear

all in my hot little hands now i need it to stop raining so i can get to it

also picked up vf ssv redline boot badge first thing ive got from holden that was cheaper than ebay haha

also enquired about redline wheels for a spare to fit over brembos lol i think ill give holden a miss at 749 for ve an 799 for vf each for a single rim no tyre or center cap :)

so my dud ssv rim is now no longer holding air and theres no cheap second handys around an to expensive to buy new seein they dont fit over the brembos so i shud have my fr1 20s on friday 8.5/245 up front 9.5/275 up back gloss black centers with polished outers

also picked up the last couple of little bits i needed to get the audio done so ill make a start on that tomorrow if its not to hot else ill just make up my loom and get my center console light in for 22$ instead of the 60$ or whatever insane price it was to buy the whole thing genuine

DAMN IT WAS HOT but i got the headunit and hvac control unit in an working no pics yet as its still a mess ive gotta mount the nav arial and handsfree mic an then slap the top of the dash back together and then splice in my 2 looms for the console and ashtray leds and slap the bottom back together and its sposed to be HOTTER tomorrow lol

got the rcas an trigger ready to run up to the boot so i might pull those through on the weekend and replace the subs an install my monoblock and leave the speakers for a later day when its not so damn HOT
